Super State Tournament 2021
Our school swept all nine team championships!

In March 2021, the Super State Tournament resumed for the first time as a virtual event.
The addition of live streaming created a more exciting sports experience, and the thrilling rapid chess sessions left parents and coaches sweating and their hearts racing.
While chess coaches can't call timeouts at crucial moments like basketball coaches, they can help students adjust their strategies and mindset before the next round, which is a valuable coaching experience.

Despite the lockdown in 2020, online tournaments and classes unexpectedly flourished. In these challenging times, only the fittest survive, and thanks to the widespread availability of the internet, the ancient sport of chess has further demonstrated its enduring vitality.

2018 "Lunar New Year Festival" Promotion
At the invitation of Los Angeles Chinese Radio, our school participated in the 27th annual "Lunar New Year Festival," a large-scale Chinese New Year garden party, contributing to the promotion of chess. During the promotion, teachers Lu Xiaosha and Deng Kongliang were interviewed by Jingwei, host of KMRM Cantonese radio's "A Concern." They discussed the current state of chess development in China and the United States, the similarities and differences, answered questions of interest to beginners, and explored many myths surrounding modern chess.

A special thank you to our good friend, WIM teacher Liang Zhihua, who promoted chess even during his vacation in the United States!

In October 2017, at the World Youth Championships, Annie Wang won the gold medal for the US team in the women's 16-year-old group with absolute advantage.

In July 2017, at the North American Youth Championship held in New Jersey, Queena Deng won the gold medal in the women's 16-year-old group for the US team with a slight advantage in points, and was awarded the title of WFM Women's World Chess Federation Master.

The 2017 Super Youth Chess Tournament concluded successfully on April 29th in Arcadia, with a larger-than-ever participation. Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you to all the players who participated from across Southern California! We hope everyone will continue to strive for even better results next year. See you at the Super Youth Chess Tournament next year!

2017 Super States Southern California Championships
This year's Southern California Interscholastic State Championships were as exciting as ever. On March 18th and 19th, with nearly 700 participants in nine categories, approximately 160 students from our college participated. We won five gold medals and four silver medals in the team event, as well as three gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals in the individual event. The results were truly impressive!

2016 Summer Interscholastic Competition Information in Southern California
April is here, and summer isn't far off. It's time for chess parents, both domestically and internationally, to start planning their summer activities.
The following are major interscholastic competitions near Southern California recommended by our academy (May to August). As the saying goes, "Grow through competition"! Participate in more competitions; summer is a great time for children to grow.

2016 Super States Review
The Super States Championship is the highlight of the annual interscholastic competition in Southern California. The 2016 Super States was held last weekend in Valencia, where elite players from clubs and schools competed for state championship titles in nine categories.
The number of interscholastic participants has been increasing significantly in recent years. This year, with a swarm of top players, the competition was even more intense, and the outcome was even more uncertain. After two days of intense competition, our students won eight team championships and two individual championships.

Our students won three gold medals at the 2016 Dreaming King Open.
From January 16th to 18th, 2016, at the Dreaming King Open in San Diego, our students won three gold medals. Ming Lu, in the U1900 class, performed remarkably well, winning first place and a prize of $800 with a record of five wins and one draw in six rounds. Qizi Li and Marrisa Li, siblings, also won first place and $800 in the U1700 and U1500 classes, respectively.

The 51st U.S. Open 2015
This year, nearly 400 young chess players from various schools and academies competed in nine divisions of the interscholastic tournament.
Our students enthusiastically participate every year, and with strength in numbers, they achieved a grand slam this year, sweeping all nine team gold medals!

The 50th U.S. Open was held as scheduled in Orange County, Southern California, with a larger field than ever before.
