2017 Super States Southern California Championships
This year's Southern California Interscholastic State Championships were as exciting as ever. On March 18th and 19th, with nearly 700 participants in nine categories, approximately 160 students from our college participated. We won five gold medals and four silver medals in the team event, as well as three gold medals, three silver medals, and three bronze medals in the individual event. The results were truly impressive!
2016 Summer Interscholastic Competition Information in Southern California
April is here, and summer isn't far off. It's time for chess parents, both domestically and internationally, to start planning their summer activities.
The following are major interscholastic competitions near Southern California recommended by our academy (May to August). As the saying goes, "Grow through competition"! Participate in more competitions; summer is a great time for children to grow.
2016 Super States Review
The Super States Championship is the highlight of the annual interscholastic competition in Southern California. The 2016 Super States was held last weekend in Valencia, where elite players from clubs and schools competed for state championship titles in nine categories.
The number of interscholastic participants has been increasing significantly in recent years. This year, with a swarm of top players, the competition was even more intense, and the outcome was even more uncertain. After two days of intense competition, our students won eight team championships and two individual championships.
Our students won three gold medals at the 2016 Dreaming King Open.
From January 16th to 18th, 2016, at the Dreaming King Open in San Diego, our students won three gold medals. Ming Lu, in the U1900 class, performed remarkably well, winning first place and a prize of $800 with a record of five wins and one draw in six rounds. Qizi Li and Marrisa Li, siblings, also won first place and $800 in the U1700 and U1500 classes, respectively.
The 51st U.S. Open 2015
This year, nearly 400 young chess players from various schools and academies competed in nine divisions of the interscholastic tournament.
Our students enthusiastically participate every year, and with strength in numbers, they achieved a grand slam this year, sweeping all nine team gold medals!
The 50th U.S. Open in 2014
The 50th U.S. Open was held as scheduled in Orange County, Southern California, with a larger field than ever before. The 50th U.S. Open was held as scheduled in Orange County, Southern California, with a larger field than ever before, with over 300 players participating in the tournament and nearly 400 junior players taking part in the inter-school competition.
2013 Southern California Interscholastic Chess Championship
The annual Super States Chess Championship was held at the Hyatt in Valencia on March 2-3, 2013.
