Kongliang Deng (Ben Deng)

International Chess Master 


Chess career: Former Chinese national team member,

was born in chess family, he learned chess at age 6,

was taught by his father Deng Qizhan who was a

first-generation chess mentor in Guangzhou,

at 8 he became children champion of the city.

at 13, he started his professional chess training in Guangdong sports institute.

 

 1987 Ningbo Cup National Invitational individual and groups champions.

 1988 runner up of the national championship.

 1989 Asian Team Championship main players.

 1993 became international master.

 1997, 98 & 99 three times Hawaii state champion

 2004 Southern California state champion

 

Coach Ben is able to analyze each student abilities and gifts allowing him to tailor to a student's needs. With a student focused teaching program, Ben also provides a needed understanding of the psychological aspects of chess competition to his students, thus setting up an environment where the student can and will rapidly improve their chess skills while growing.

 

Xiaosha Lu (Sarah Lu)

Woman International Chess Master 


Chess career: Former Chinese national team member,

at 12 she started her professional chess training in

Guangdong sports institute. Gone through various

domestic and international competition and success.

 

 1990 National champion in China Youth Championship.

 1995 World Championship Asian champion became women international master.

 1996 China Championship individual gold medal.

 1999 moved to United States as a chess coach

 2001 Hawaii state champion

 

Coach Sarah is a beginner friendly instructor for beginning to intermediate level,

she has a lot of experiences in educating kids to learn and love chess. she has taught thousands of students in the past years; she could find and encourage talent kids to higher level like her earlier students Annie Wang and Jennifer Yu.
